Mr. Igeria has practiced law for over 30 years in the areas of civil litigation, conveyancing, commercial law, arbitration and mediation. Besides being a very highly accomplished lawyer, he is highly skilled in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms. Through the appointment by H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta, he chairs the Nairobi Center for International Arbitration, and has a good track record with arbitration and mediation matters, resolving cases that had lagged in courtrooms for many years.

Arthur Igeria graduated from the University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1989 and was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court in 1991. He holds a Global Executive Masters degree in Business Administration (GEMBA) from the United States International University (USIU)/ Frankfurt School of Business and Finance. He is an accredited Mediator by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), the Mediation Training Institute (MTI) Kenya, the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre (SDRC), and the Mediation Accreditation Committee of the High Court of Kenya. He sits on the CIArb Nairobi Branch Committee.

NOTABLE ASSIGNMENTS.

  • Advising buyer and financier on the buy-out of shares from owners of a company whose principle asset was a shopping mall. Assisted in the registration and perfection of the security documentation which included share transfers, lien, debenture and charge over the free property.
  • Handled numerous arbitration matters both as a Court appointed Arbiter and for Corporate Arbitration for Commercial parties. His service in Arbitration is highly acclaimed leading to his appointment by the President of Kenya to be the chairs the Nairobi Center for International Arbitration.
  • Handled the set up of Family Trusts, Succession arbitration and Will & Testament documents, for various private parties.
